Unifying Communities and Advocating for the Environment through a Dynamic Brand Identity

WMEAC has a lot of distinct audiences—businesses, legislators, volunteers, teachers, and in many ways anyone who lives in the their 8 county region. Sometimes these audiences overlap, but often the person going to a Septics Week event is not the person who volunteering for the Teach for the Watershed program. Through our work, we've created a dynamic brand identity that helps WMEAC feel consistent, even as the work flexes across its many audiences.

Integrated Campaign

Summer Science Explorers

A great example of our ability to create audience-specific brands under the WMEAC umbrella is the Summer Science Explorers Program, in collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of West Michigan. This partnership aims to spark children’s interest in science and foster a stronger connection to their local ecosystems.

Targeting 8-12-year-old students and their parents, our challenge was to create a youthful yet not childish brand that is science-inspired without being dull, while maintaining the WMEAC identity. Our tools, such as field journals, curriculum assets, weekly sticker packs, and worksheets, kept students engaged throughout the summer. The kids eagerly traded bug stickers to decorate their filled notebooks. The program’s success in its first year led to its expansion to Muskegon County.
